Celebrating over 70 years of excellence
Roy Buck, the founder of Sierra Pacific Supply Company, was an esteemed figure in the aviation industry and a visionary entrepreneur. With a wealth of experience in the field, he played a significant role during World War II, working as a foreman in a fighter factory in Tulsa. In this capacity, he oversaw a team of around twenty women riveters, popularly known as “Rosie the Riveters,” who constructed fighter planes to support the war effort.
In 1954, Roy Buck founded Sierra Pacific Supply Company, a pivotal venture that focused on purchasing hardware directly from manufacturers and distributing it to the aircraft industry. Alongside this he designed innovative equipment, including the Rolls machine for sorting different diameters of rivets. His inventions, such as the length sorter and magnetic roller, further showcased his commitment to improving industry processes. Through his entrepreneurial spirit, industry knowledge, and commitment to excellence, Roy Buck laid the foundation for Sierra Pacific Supply, a company that continues to thrive and serve the aviation industry to this day.
